STEP 1 - GRAB A PEN AND GET WRITING
Lots of people speak of their goals but never, ever write them down. Goals not written down are just wishful thinking. You have to commit them to paper as this is the fastest way to move from thoughts to action.

You can do this by asking questions. For example, if 1 goal is to recruit more volunteers, then ask yourself. How many new volunteers do I want to recruit? 10, 20 or 50? What type of people am I looking for? Male, female, age range? What skills am I looking for? Administrative skills, people based skills? How many hours per week will be required by these new recruits?
STEP 4 - GET REALLY,in their own ways, REALLY SPECIFIC
By asking yourself lots of questions you become very clear and really specific in your goals. You can now focus your efforts. For example, by asking questions your specific recruitment goal will evolve. It could be to recruit 20 more male volunteers aged 45 to 65 years with people based skills to befriend and visit older men in nursing homes for up to 2 hours per week. Now that is clear and specific.
STEP 5 - DEVELOP THE ACTION PLAN
Brainstorm an action plan by listing all the actions that will be required. Then take your list and rearrange each action in order. Beginning with the first action you have to take, then the second, then the third action and so on.
STEP 6 - SET A DEADLINE
Determine a deadline for each action step. That is, a date and time to complete each action. This will help you to get moving now. And here is a quick tip to recruit those 20 males. You have just experienced purity, clarity, relaxation, and having quality time. How do you get that same quality time into your daily life?
The Gift of Time
How many times have you said to yourself: "There is never enough time" or "Where did the time go today?" Our society moves fast and works hard. We rarely think about the wonderful free things in life. The air, mountains, oceans, blue sky, sun, moon, and YOUR TIME! Time is a great gift, given to all of us at birth. It is yours, you own it. It's priceless— and it's free. What you do with it is your choice. We tend to take Time for granted because it's there with us every day, in our faces. It almost has its own voice saying: "So, what are you going to do with me today?" The solution is simple: Time is not managed in the abstract; time is managed through organizing your home and workplace. When your home and workplace are organized, your time and life are managed. Research has proven this point over and over. Two hours of productive time are wasted each day through disorganization and clutter, causing stress and pressure, never allowing for that cruise-ship moment.
How many of us are guilty of occasionally not being able to find car keys, sunglasses, reading glasses, file folders, a favorite blouse, the TV remote, telephone hand set, cell phone or even a pen? I have a friend who found the TV remote in the fridge, the car keys in the trash, his glasses under the hood of the car. None of this was a result of short-term memory loss. It was a result of disorganization.
Time is like the speed of sound. It moves at mach speeds, nano seconds. In 1942 Franklin Roosevelt said it best: "Never before have we had so little time in which to do so much." Sixty-three years later, we still have so little time to do so much. The speed of time will not change. Nor will the cultural mix of people throughout the world.
It started in the 1200s with the great seagoing explorers. Their early connection with the other side of the world not only accelerated our perception of time, but it also involved our exposure to other cultures. I tell you this to illustrate a point. One of our concerns today is other nations. That may sound a little political, but that's not the intention. The intention is to put into perspective how we got to this fast moving pace. As the world comes closer together, it seems to move faster. None of us can do anything about this. It's just going to happen. Ships, trains, the telegraph, telephone, automobiles, air, one-way radios, two-way radios, the mail system, television, satellite dishes, UPS, FedEx, mail order, computers, cell phones, the Internet. I present this brief history to give you a perspective, an understanding of the past so you can relate it to the present and future. Most people have allowed clutter to build up, hanging on to the old because they have accepted it as part of life. They do not want to make any lifestyle changes. This is not about lifestyle change; this is about getting more out of life by taking control of time and space. When you don't have control of time and space, time and space have control over you.
Your Home
The answer is in your home, where your day begins and ends. Starting with your bedroom. As simple as it sounds, an unmade bed is clutter. If you launch your day in a cluttered room, your entire day will feel cluttered and unclear. Your bedroom should be a tranquil place, like your mind on the cruise ship. When your bedroom, closet, bathroom and dresser drawers are organized, you have achieved the first step in taking control of your time. This personal space is the model and sets the tone to organize and manage your home and workplace. When you have accomplished this you are TIME READY. Ready, organized, and prepared to take advantage of opportunities. There is no greater feeling than returning to an organized space at the end of each day, one that is calm and relaxing, and gives you that cruise-ship moment.
Planning and Storing Time
When your home and workplace are organized you are ready to plan. Failing to plan is planning to fail. TIME AWARENESS a skill that evolves from managing your time. Being aware of what you can realistically accomplish in one hour or one day. A task list is a time-management tool. A daily task list is like a road map. Driving without one in unfamiliar territory causes time loss. The result of planning and managing your daily task is time control, having time on your side. Productive Hours
We all have in us what I call TIME EFFICIENCY. These are the peak periods in our morning, afternoon, or evening. When you discover this source—your peak period— you will find that your mind and body will perform with more clarity, and that your coordination and energy level will feel like that of an athlete. Plan your personal and work activities during these hours. If you have a difficult decision to make, a challenging meeting, a document, presentation to create or an important conversation on personal matters, do them when you are at your best and you will experience the pleasure of success and relief. This use of your most productive hours will provide you with additional confidence to make your rhythm work in the speed around you.
Procrastination
How does procrastination play a roll in organizing and taking control of time? It delays progress. Why does it exist? Fear. Putting things off because they are too difficult, too overwhelming. Why does this happen? Mostly because of overload, taking on too much, resulting in too many pending and incomplete tasks. Procrastination contributes to time loss. A good way to manage procrastination is by prioritizing. When you have identified your most productive hours of your day, schedule challenging tasks in that period.
Clutter
Let's talk more about clutter. It's everywhere. Clutter can take control of your life. It mutates, changes and appears differently. It exists in your fridge, pantry, closets, drawers, bathrooms, purse, wallet, briefcase, pockets, file folders, desk, and car. It can have an exhausting effect. Clutter causes VISUAL OVERLOAD. It's a mind clogger. How do you control it? By stopping it before the assault. Simple examples of daily infiltrators are the mail, magazines, newspapers, packages, shopping bags, groceries, grocery bags,5815 Ugg Classic Tall Black Boots, cleaning, new clothes, athletic items, and toys. The only way to fend off the onslaught is to stop it upon entry. Go on the offensive. Mail that has built-in categories is easy to deal with—catalogs, junk mail, magazines, important. Evaluate the magazines you really read, not what you think you like or may read. Magazines are an expense. Clarity and the Clear Mind

By clearing the clutter, you're also freeing the mind, relieving stress and the things that add to our frustrations. Suddenly your mind is clear of the negative thinking "Boy this house is a mess." And in its place are more serene thoughts, those cruise ship moments that, by the way, can add up to a full cruise.

I realize that it's important to watch out for number one ourselves. We need to set goals

If you sometimes feel as though you're caught in life's quicksand, you have a lot of company. We work, we struggle, we try to do everything we possibly can to move on to a higher level of well-being but it seems like the harder we work, the more stuck we get. If you're approaching a Category 5 frustration level, you might give this a try
Switch your focus from that really nice but frustrated person in the mirror to one or more of the other folks who inhabit this good earth.
I realize that it's important to watch out for number one ourselves. We need to set goals, lay out plans and then do those things we need to do so that we can at least make some progress toward our goals. We need to demonstrate personal financial responsibility, plan for retirement and frequently just cover our backside so it doesn't get chewed off by one or more of life's rodents.
However,Take a different route to work, what frequently happens is that we become so over-focused on ourselves and our own personal well-being that we wind up building huge walls. We lose the ability or even desire to see the bigger picture and the possibilities that life presents to us. We become so focused on "me" that we sometimes begin scrutinizing even the most insignificant events to determine their potential impact on our personal lives. We become victims to ourselves. And to be real honest about it, we sometimes just become so busy being busy that we lose track of where we thought we wanted our lives to wind up in the first place.
One possible solution as I mentioned earlier is to change our focus from "me" to "others". From being the receiver to being the giver. And no, I'm not even implying that this requires any major change in the things we do every day,UGG 5815. It may eventually lead to that but it's not a critical part of the initial process.
Here's what I mean. No matter what you do to earn a living or keep the household moving in a logical direction, somewhere down the line a real person will probably benefit from what you do. Think about it. The work we do is not just to stuff computer systems full of information or help machines work better. It's not just to take people's money so we'll have a paycheck at the end of the week. It's not just filling out forms, nailing pieces of boards together, assembling electronic devices, hauling packages, going to meetings, cutting down trees, repairing cars, painting houses, stocking shelves, installing drywall or flippin' hamburgers. Somewhere, sometime (and maybe immediately) another human being will likely be positively affected by what you do,the fertility of the soils.
And yes, if you're paying attention, you've noticed that I've used a couple of cop-out words in the preceding paragraph "likely" and "probably". I had to do that because in the real world there are some individuals whose money-making efforts are focused mainly on "non-beneficial" activities. For the rest of us however, our activities and work generally reflect a more positive endeavor. That leads us back to the original suggestion. If you are caught in the quicksand, take a few minutes to really think about the people the individuals who will be better off, healthier or happier because of what you do. Think about how you are giving of your time and talents so that others will profit in some way from your efforts.
Do you see what can happen here? When we change our focus from "me" to "others", our work the things we do every day starts taking on a new significance. We are now a giver. Our life honestly is meaningful. We know that what we do is truly important to someone else. That's pretty special, huh?

It's amazing how easily we're taken in by the things our ego-minds tell us and how we automatically default to believing that what we are thinking is truth. We immediately react to everything we see and hear around us, thinking that we clearly understand what we're perceiving. But this is not the case, what we are thinking is not necessarily the truth at all.
When someone says something to us that we don't agree with or that we don't like,5815 Ugg Classic Tall Chocolate Boots, what do we normally do? We immediately project outwards and say that "they" are wrong or that "they" have a problem and we use what they are saying to further cement our personal point of view and beliefs. If anyone says something that we don't like, rather than projecting outwards, take a moment to ask why we're in reaction. If we are having any reaction at all, it's about us, not about them.
As spiritual warriors we seek to take responsibility for what's happening in our own ego-minds,for example, rather than being concerned about what others are thinking and believing. In fact, the expectations we have about anything and everything regarding others is worth taking the time to investigate. The ego-mind drains us of our personal power and energy by creating fear-based reactions within our bodies. Every time we react to something we are being given the opportunity to perceive our ego-mind at work.
For example, many times I've made the offer for people to email me if they have a question, are in reaction, or have an issue after a workshop but it's rare that people take me up on my offers! People would rather be right or martyr themselves then pick up the phone or send an email. So what's that saying to me? It's telling me that people's ego-minds are stopping them from learning and growing because of some nonsense they believe. Nonsense like, "I don't want to bother her," "I don't like what she's saying,Roseanna Leaton," "I don't need her help," and so on rather than taking action and calling me. In essence, we're creating limitation by refusing an opportunity that life is giving us.
Whenever my teacher made himself available to me, I took him up on the opportunity. Why? I realized that he was testing me to move past what my ego-mind was telling me and take the minimal chance to freedom. Ask yourselves how often your ego-mind has stolen an opportunity from you in order to further support your personal point of view and beliefs?
When any teacher, myself included, takes the time to share with others, we're sharing ourselves and the way we live our lives. We don't need to defend our lives, or prove ourselves to others; we're already happy. It's up to you to decide if what we have to offer might be what you would like in your life. The way to figure that out is not by thinking with your mind, but instead by feeling it in your heart. If you want to be free, I encourage you to take the actions necessary to get past all the justifications and rationalizations of your ego-mind.

Time Management
You work hard all day and as you are driving home, you feel frustrated, stressed out and just mad because you were unable to get two key tasks done, even though you had the time, but were just unable to squeeze them in.
Let's start with the obvious. I did say you had the time; we always have the time. This realization has to come into play when we are working along our journey together. The concept of not having enough time to do the things you want in a day is false, inaccurate and will cause you no end of grief until you can get your head around the following concept:
· We always have enough time
· Its our use of that time that dictates wither we get our key tasks done or not
· On busy days, the time you had available to do a specific task was there,What is your action plan for fulfilling your life's purpose, you just choose to use that time on another task
Example, you want to accomplish two key priorities today, write a report to a sales associate, will take an hour,community. You also have to schedule a 30-minute meeting with the manager to review some budget issues. The time to do these two priorities is one and a half hours. You arrive at work at 8:00 and you leave at 5:00, you have the time, how you choose to use that time is the issue.
You start your day, by answering your emails, taking phone calls, meeting with people who drop by your office, going out of the office for an unscheduled meeting, reviewing sales reports, returning phone calls, checking emails, responding to some emails, meeting with some co-workers, spent some time doing general paper work, worked on a budget, due at the end of the month, grabbed a bite to eat, called home twice, met with your boss for a short meeting.
At 5:00 you left for the day. The two key Priorities were left undone. Did you have enough time to do them? Of course you did. What happened is, you allowed lower priority items take over the time that should have gone to the higher ranked, key priorities that you wanted to get accomplished, but let slip away from you.
What just happened to you today is one of the most common mistakes we all make when it comes to letting our time slip away from us. Order matters is the name of the Tip of The Week, our example shows us what happens when we don't pay attention to the order of when we do things in our work day. Here are some ways to avoid this happening to you.
Rule One.
Key A Priorities must be Time Activated into your Day Planner. If you don't have a Day Planner, and you don't Time Activate your Priorities, you can see what happens. In our example, this person didn't sit on his hands all day, he was busy, he accomplished quite a few things, cleared some issues off his desk, returned calls, cleared some emails, he did in fact work hard all day, did accomplished some things, he just didn't get the important tasks done. As we are learning, if you don't get the important tasks done on a regular daily basis, you are just not going to be successful, period,5815 Ugg Classic Tall Auburn Boots.
Rule Two
People are people, to safe guard your self from this fact, schedule your top A Priorities into the first half of you day. No exceptions. You must give yourself the bets possible time slots to get what is important to you done. The law of diminishing returns works against you the second you walk into work. We all know the distractions, the interruptions, the unforeseen, the unscheduled, all of these daily events conspire unconscionably against you from achieving your agenda. You know this, schedule accordingly.
Rule Three
Priorities are just that, they take priority over things that are not Priorities, that's why they are called Priorities. In our example, our subject let lesser unimportant tasks take over his schedule. Two killers of time are telephone calls, in and out, and emails, especially in. The problem here is simple; telephone calls and emails almost always allow other people to interject their agenda into your schedule, if you let them.

·Limit your self to checking emails 3 times or less per day.
·You have a door on your office, use it.
Rule Four
You have to learn to protect what is yours. Your time is just that, yours. Any one who wants to take up your time to benefit them selves has to be challenged, by you. Failure to do this means you will be the one at the end of the day with the unfinished schedule and very little to show for it. Here is an important aspect to think about. Very often, the order in which the other person is responded to makes no difference to them, but can make a huge difference to you. For example, some one walks into your office unannounced, and says he needs you to look at a file. You are working on a Priority task, timing is critical to you and your response is "I'm in the middle of something now, can we review it at 2:00 this afternoon?" More often than not, that will work for the intruder.
The rule is this, if they are unannounced, unscheduled, just appear, you are under no obligation to interrupt your schedule to accommodate them. You have to protect your time, your agenda and you're Priorities.

This is where we begin - One day as I was reading the Bible I came across and amazing scripture. Looking back I realized that there was a lot of hard work and preparation that needed to happen. The nation Israel needed to come together and build the temple. Then I noticed that there was a distinct pattern regarding the various stages of the project. And the pattern fits no matter what kind of building project you start. I want to show you how it applies to your music ministry.
The metaphor of building a house is appropriate in the fact that it gives you a visual model to help understand how to build your music ministry. And you can apply this basic principle to make vast improvements in the way you minister to the people you serve.
With all this in mind let us look at the four major steps toward building an awesome music ministry.

Even though the effects of depression might be all too real in your life, depression is not real. If you're suffering from depression, you're only imagining it because depression is the direct result of your subconscious mind's obsession with useless thoughts that were impressed upon it during your formative years. I know that this may seem completely unreasonable to anyone who is trapped in the dark by depression - or, indeed, to anyone whose life is deeply affected because a loved one or family member suffers from depression. But it is a psychological fact. Not only that, it's the way every single person's mind works. In other words, it's normal for your subconscious mind to focus on the past - everyone's does - it's just that the psychological snapshots that your subconscious is focused on are more negative - and the subconscious mind loves negative. This is not your fault - it's the way we're all wired. Nor is it your fault that you're carrying more negative baggage than someone else. This solution is found by embarking on a 'self-training course' in paying attention to the only place and time that's real, the only place and time that you can really live - the here and now. This training course requires daily commitment - perhaps only five or ten minutes, but five or ten minutes every single day - otherwise your mind will drift back to its default settings. But the good news is that you won't be training yourself to do something that's foreign to you. Do you think that five or ten minutes each day might be worth the bother? Could ten minutes each morning make the remaining twenty three hours and fifty minutes that much better? The answer is a resounding Yes! But five or ten minutes doing what?

As a result, you make nonsense of the reality of the information being fed to you be your five senses. Pills or medicine won't enable you experience the difference between reality and the illusion of depression - they might make the pain go away for a while but your subconscious mind will always wander back to those thoughts that are not real but just an imprint of a past long gone. The only way you will experience reality - one without depression - is to learn how to clear your mind.
